　　今天，我们听了哥伦比亚大学兼罗格斯大学的卡门·阿达穆奇教授的演讲。这是一篇十分启发性的演座，介绍了完成入学申请的写作技巧。我们都用心的理解并记下教授说的内容。

　　首先，教授给出了一个的例子，是一个糟糕的申请表格的开头，用8%的词来描述普通的无意义的事情。我们需要写一个有吸引力的开头，因为开头真的非常重要，当你开头段十分无聊，没有人会读下去。这就是为什么我们需要一个创造性的开头，让招生官记住你。如果他们对你印象深刻，你的第一步就成功。这让我思考：我可以利用什么来吸引AO? 发生在我身上的什么样的故事能成为一个有吸引力的开头?

　　然后，Adamucci教授介绍了托福写作、SAT写作和文书的区别。简而言之，托福写作需要表达你对某个话题的看法并进行论证，而SAT写作则是通过批判性思维去分析一篇议论文。这两项都是有分数的。然而，申请书包括你的亲身经历，如比赛奖项和参与的特别的志愿活动，并随着学校排名越来越必须。文书中包含的这些方面是比其他方面更重要的软因素。这说明了为什么我们应该练习写作技巧，提高我们的专业水平。

　　我知道展示自己的特殊技能是有十分有帮助的。我们应该拥有一个特长，能给AO留下深刻的印象。写一些其他人都能写的东西，比如普通志愿者和篮球，根本就无法吸引招生官嘛~

　　申请书的内容必须是合乎逻辑的。不要用不相关的词句。也不要用不合理和不合逻辑的话。如果你使用上了这些，你就完蛋啦。

　　此外,GPA(平均分)是一个很重要的部分。优秀可靠的GPA分数可以给你带来“好运”(申请学校有帮助)。当然，用糟糕的GPA申请名校是不可能的。

　　Today, we attended a lecture spoken by professor Carmen Adamucci from Columbia University and Rutgers University. Professor Adamucci introduced many crucial writing tips about how to edit applications for a higher acceptance rate. All of us tried our best to comprehend and remember what the professor taught us.

　　Firstly, the professor gave a clear example to show us an bad beginning of an application form that use 8% words to describe a normal thing. He emphasized that it is important to write a useful and attractive beginning because no one will read the next part when you beginning is boring.That’s the reason why we need a creative and innovative beginning to make the admission officer (AO) remember you. If they remember you, your first step is successful. It leads me to think that what could I utilize to attract AO? What kind of story happened to me could become an attractive start?

　　Then, Mr. Adamucci introduced the differences among TOEFL Writing, SAT Writing, and Application essays. In short, TOEFL Writing is established to express and illustrate your opinion of a topic while SAT Writing is composed through critical thinking skills.These two are evaluate both by scores. However, Application essays includes your own experience, such as prizes of competition and participation of a specific volunteering, which is in need increasingly with a higher school ranking. These aspects included in your application are called soft factors which are much more significant than others. This explanation demonstrates why we should practice our writing skills and improve our specialty.

　　Next, if you want to apply for a school, you need to write down your desirable emotion. Why do you want to enter this school? Why do you like this school? Describe this school as your dream school, no matter it is or it isn’t. Show AO your value and your determination to enter thisschool. These really bring the students more opportunities to enter the school which you chose to apply. That is what I should do soon. The professor’s lecture made me clearly understand how to form my application. Write down your essay sincerely and desirably.

　　Moreover, I learned that showing one’s extraordinary skills is helpful. We should develop a skill which is special to impress the AO. It will be boring if you write something that everyone else can also write it. Such as general volunteering and basketball.

　　The implication for admission must be logical. Don’t use irrelevant words and phrase. Don’t use reasonless and illogical sentences. If you use what stated above, you will “ GAME OVER”.

　　In addition, GPA(Grade-Point Average)is also an essential part. A n outstanding and believable GPA can bring you luck. Of course, using a terrible GPA to apply a prominent university is impossible.
